Cello Adventures Studio is located in Dee Why, Sydney Northern Beaches. The studio is comprised of passionate cello students of various backgrounds and musical experience. Together we have weekly lessons, group classes and we enjoy many studio events such as concerts, book recitals, graduation, community performances, and more! Our studio is a close group of families all speaking the common language of music and on the remarkable journey of learning to play together.
Studio Basics
PRIVATE LESSONS (face to face or online)
Private Lessons happen once a week at your assigned lesson time, and all students take the following lesson lengths:
- FIRST YEAR OF LESSONS (kids only): 30 minutes
- SECOND YEAR ONWARDS, TEENS & ADULTS: 45 minutes
GROUP CLASS
*Compulsory for students up to 13 years old. Optional for teens and adults.
Group Class is our most important group activity, where all levels come together to play. We gather twice a term and focus on playing review pieces as well as developing ensemble skills through our cello choir. Group Class is a foundational pillar of my Studio, this is where the magic truly happens, where young cellists learn to play together, to hear each other’s voices through their cellos, and to grow as a team.
CONCERTS
*Compulsory for students up to 13 years old. Optional for teens and adults.
The Studio hosts a concert twice a year on Saturday afternoon. Students also have the opportunity to perform at Book Recitals, Graduation Concerts and many other Suzuki events throughout the year.
FESTIVALS & WORKSHOPS
The Studio also participates in Suzuki events throughout the year, like the Sydney Suzuki Festival, Spring School and Summer Camp.
PARENT EDUCATION
Parent education is a big part of the Studio. Monica works very closely with parents by showing them how to practice creatively with their kids, and supporting them to create a positive learning environment at home. It also involves frequent communication by email, newsletters, access to books and videos to support parents in their journey as musical partners for their children.
